Can you believe that it is almost the 4th of July! It always seems like summer is just underway and all of a sudden July 4th pops up! Soon the half-way mark for Baseball, the All Star Game will be held, then before we can blink an eye, it will be Labor Day! Well let's not rush through the summer yet. Here are some area events happening in Lancaster, PA for this coming weekend's festivities.
Start of the weekend with the ever popular First Friday in downtown Lancaster City. First Friday's have become a date many look forward to for a very fun time with so many art galleries, shops and restaurants open late. Festivities begin at 5:00 pm and most shops and galleries are open til 9:00 pm. Click on the link above and print out a guide to help plan your evening.
If watching a parade strikes your fancy, on Friday July 1st travel up to Lititz for the 20th Annual Independence Day Parade through the town's streets. The parade begins at 6:30 and is followed with entertainment by Flamin' Dick & The Hot Rods in Lititz Springs Park. Admission is Free!
On Saturday July 2 in Lititz Spring Park will be the 194th Continuous Fourth of July Celebration! Gates open at noon, there is an entrance fee charged. Entertainment, a Baby Parade, Food Court, Queen of Candles Pageant, 7,000 candles illuminated and a hi-tech firework display with synchronized sound are a few of the many activities throughout the day.
Sunday July 3 rounds out the weekend with The Longs Park Summer Music Series. The 257th Army Band, The Band of our Nations Capital will entertain beginning at 7:30 pm and feature a historic cannon brigade and spectacular firework display. Admission if Free, bring your lawn chairs and blankets for an enjoyable evening!
