Looking for Things To Do In Lancaster? (Part2) Check out Central Market!

No visit to Lancaster Pa. is complete without a visit to Central Market nestled in the heart of downtown Lancaster city.  This market is a throw back to the times when farmer's markets were the place to shop.  There were no supermarkets back in 1889 when this market was built.  The city once had several markets so that one could walk to the market and shop.  Central Market is the oldest continuously running farmer's market in the country.

Central Market is open year round on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.  Hours are 6am till 4pm Tuesday and Friday and on Saturday 6am till 2pm.  It is a place where locals gather to share the local gossip in a warm environment and where shopkeepers great you with a smile.  The market features not only the ripe fruits and fresh vegetables bursting with color of the local farmers' labor but also features dairy, bakeries, local poultry, grass fed beef, fresh ground horseradish, local and imported cheeses, jar goods, teas and spices and gourmet foods and desserts that will make your mouth water!

So on your next visit to Lancaster County, stay with us at O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House and we will help you plan your visit making sure one of the stops is Central Market.  There is so much to see and do, you may need a week or several visits to take them all in.
