Hiking in Lancaster County, PA

It is only a few days from Spring!!  Yes it is that wonderful time of year when we can reward ourselves from the hibernation of winter and get outside!  I don't know about you but this winter has seemed long and cold to me.  I am anxious to start the garden, pond and grounds work!

Something I discovered the other day about our area is the wonderful county parks, nature preserves and well kept trails we have to offer for the hiker enthusiast.   The Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation  has links to all of our county parks and preserves as well as directions and printable maps of the trails.  The site also lists upcoming events that are held in the parks such as a recent maple tree tapping and the making of syrup.

There are many types of trails to choose from.  The more rugged trial through woods and ruff terrain to the easy to walk rails-to-trails hikes.  No matter what your expertise, Lancaster County PA has a trail for you.  Whichever one you choose, there is one thing for sure, you will have beautiful scenery to enjoy!

So plan a trip to Lancaster County this spring to enjoy the great outdoors!  Here at O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House B&B we can help you plan your day, print out directions and maps, and send you off with a hearty breakfast to start your day's adventure.
